I'm on benadryl. It makes me loopy, but it works. If you take benadryl, I suggest you take only 1. Taking two will knock your socks off. You might want to also buy Claritin or Alavert over the counter. They don't make me tired or loopy. It might work with you, and it's only 10 mg for 24 hours. Not a big dosage.

there are all kinds of antihistamines. I used to use claritin and it just didnt work, so i tried benadryl and alavert, both of which work great, alavert for the daytime sinus problems and benadryl for the nites.
also an easy trick is to wash your hands constantly (as often as you can without it being akward) and be aware of what ur hands are doing and do not touch your eyes, face, or mouth as these areas have mucus membranes that exacerbate the allergies.
a more extreme option is something called desensitisation, which is a series of shots that are given over a course of time that will raise ur bodys ability to fight these specific allergy triggers. consult your doctor about this if you are interested...

Talk to your doctor. Mine put me on a mixture of Flonase, Guifenasin and Allegra. Prescription drugs are often stronger and less likely to make you drowsy. You can also try to change your diet. Eliminating dairy products can help to relieve congestion, for example.

Could you go to your doctor and get Beconase AQ nasal spray? It is a steroidal nasal spray. It takes about 5 days to start working, but it won't make you sleepy.
