Absolutely. I'm an adult now, but my mom is still one of my best friends. I don't tell her everything though, but close. That's wonderful that you can appreciate your mom's wisdom at such a young age, most girls can't stand their mothers, I know I couldn't. Good for you!

I am very very happy for you! Its enviable that your mom is your best friend, and you should keep it that way. Unfortunately for some of us, its not the same. I tried to be as open as I could with my mom but somewhere I sort of drifted off, and now even though we still maintain a good relationship, she isnt very sure of who my boyfriend is! I hardly tell her anything that I think doesnt concern her. Except for work and school and a few known friends, thats all. I know a friend of mine who is still a virgin today because he and his mom have been friends for like forever and he loves her so much that he doesnt want to break the promise he made to her of not having premarital sex. So I encourage it. There will be times you won't see eye to eye, but I guess your love will overcome it. Thumbs up!

I tell my mom everything and by "everything" not the part where I am intimate with my guy. I'm very close to my ma, but there are somethings better left unknown. Unless I have a problem with him and I then I dont tell my ma. Other than that she is definetly the wisest woman out there. Very religious but realistic at the same time. andd soo funnyy.. Shes awesome

I do not tell my mother everything, and I think that she prefers it that way. There are just some things that I don't want to share and there are some things I'm sure she doesn't want to know. I think that you can be friends with your parents, but at the same time, they are still your parent and will give you the best parental advice they can.

No! Not about my private life. I've learned the hard way. Me and mom never got along...and I think we both have an understanding that we never will...and are happy with it. Now we're just trying to be civil with one another. It's easier with 2,000 miles between us. But u are lucky that u and ur mom are best buds, and she can still be ur MOM and u can still be her DAUGHTER; and y'all can be FRIENDS through it all. Very Gilmore Girlish. I'd say my relationship with my mom is kilnda(empahsis on KINDA), like Lorali's and her mom's.

I always told my mom everything although at times she made it difficult by being critical until one day she told me, "G-d forgive you" for something which was unacceptable in my culture but not in others'. I told her, "Don't you worry about G-d, can you forgive me? 'cause I know G-d doesn't have a problem with this?"
That experience changed my mom, she's since stopped being judgmental and has become much easier to talk to.

I totally agree. When I was in high school I just couldn't open up to her like I can now. Its easier now and I don't feel like she will be so judgemental towards me. I can talk to her about pretty much anything really. My mom is like my best friend and shes the best.

Yes, I tell my mother everything. She is like my best friend. Ya know? My mother knows more about me than anyone. And she knows more about me because she raised me. I think it is great to tell your mother stuff. It also gives you someone to talk to that you can trust. Most people you can't trust. Some of your friends would just tell someone else.

my mom was my best friend-especially after my divorce-she was there every step of the way-i had two small children at the time--i had to work-on weekends she would take them overnight--my mom passed away in 2002--i still miss her terribly--i told her practically everything and she was always there for me-we spoke everyday by phone--we spent alot of time together--cherish every moment with your mom-time is fleeting!!!

I am the same way with my mother. I feel that i can talk to her about anything. I really feel that is what a mother, daughter relationship should be like.
