Don't really see how you can compare them. Its not as though they do the same thing.I have both, I use my phone for talking and texting and taking pics. I use my laptop for internet and work and entertainment. Which of these is more of use to you?

These two items have varying functionality and don't do the same things. You have to decide for yourself what needs you have and buy accordingly.
In my opinion a laptop has a lot more functionality than a cell phone. If you are planning to surf the net with your phone , be carefull as you can end up spending small fortunes in extra charges.Cell phones are far from ideal tools to surf the net, but then again phoning with a computer isn't that great. Depends on your needs.

These devices are NOT comparable -- I use my laptop for my own career and personal business, and my cell phone is my lifeline -- as a Single Woman, it is something that I use to keep the costs down -- because I chose a cell plan that would have the ability to minimize my phone bills in the first place.

It's two different thinng. I have a great laptop and agood cell ph.
Why don't you find both that can fit you budget? It's not that hard.
Because to type on a cell/black berry is not as easy.

Gateway has excellent deals for Laptop and Verizon for cell.
