My first day at my new job my boyfriend made dinner for me. It wasn't anything elaborate, just nice. He also cleaned up. It gave me a chance to relax when I got home. It really made me feel special...like he knew I would be tired at the end of the day and just wanted to take care of me.

How about a couple of flowers in a vase, waiting for her? (In case your budget is really tight, most thrift stores have a MILLION vases at really great prices, and you can get mixed bouquets at groceries and florists for a few bucks.)
If you don't mind waiting a couple of days, pick out a special card and write a message....and mail it to her....at her work address. She probably won't be expecting THAT, and it'll be a special surprise in her first week, which can be rough.
You sound like a wonderful person. Good luck to you both!

Take her out... or better yet... take her in :)
Sure its a cliche, but there is nothing like a candlelit dinner for two with rose pedals lining the hallway. Or really, her favorite flower.
And a bit of advice, unless you are the WORST chef in the world, and you are afraid you might unintentionally poison your date, I would suggest you cook the food yourself. It means a lot more. (And make sure you clean up all the dishes before she gets home, because that looks tacky).

Give her lots of hugs and kisses as soon as she gets home. Listen as she tells you about her first day.Cook a nice romantic dinner. Tell her how happy she makes you and how much you love her. After dinner have candles lit and a bubble bath waiting. A woman wants and needs to know, she's loved and appreciated. It's awesome you want to do something special for her.

I would make her dinner. It kind of sounds cheesy, but even if you take her out to dinner, that would be nice. Something so she can relax when she comes home.
Rub her feet, tell her how much you love her and appreciate what she's done, and take a bath with her.
God, that sounds good. Would you tell my husband to this for me? lol
