i was flatironing my sister's hair after she had taken a shower, and she asked me why her hair was stringy at the front. it felt greasy, so i assumed that she hadn't washed the conditioner out properly (this wasn't the first time). she refused to believe it. so i said maybe she didn't shampoo properly, and she also refused to believe that. is there any other possible reason why THIS TIME there are greasy and stringy patches of hair?

You've got it right. Either the conditioner wasn't rinsed out thoroughly enough, or she didn't wash her hair in that area quite right.

she needs to use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner and really work it into her hair. Maybe even trying to shampoo her hair two times. As for the conditioner, she should not be putting it into her roots. She should put a dab into her palms, rub her hands together and then coat her hair from top to bottom, and get the ends really good. Then rinse until there is nothing left. She just isn't getting some areas with her shampoo well. Don't worry about it, she'll figure it out.

No, she didn't wash all the grease out. Maybe you can suggest to her that she should use a sink instead of the shower. I never really got that, I do the shower hair wash only when I am pressed for time. You can't possibly wash your hair completely in the shower water all in your face, along with the shampoo and stuff, lol. Give me a break people! Ha!
