report back to your unit asap My husband is a Sgt in the army and since November he has had 3 people AWOL you will probably get court martialed and have to serve 30 days. You will be chaptered out so if you want out of the army soon then you need to report back to your unit soon. I hope whatever the reason you went awol it was worth it because its going to be real tough finding a new job with a dishoronable discharge.

being awaol has nothing to do with it. i went awol for 29 days and got arrested for it, it was a federal warrent, they put me in county jail for 1 week then MP's came and got me and just sent me back to my unit. they wont discharge you just cause you dont want to be there, shortly after I got married then got pregnant now im out cause i didnt have a family care plane. The only thing I can tell you is fake that you are crazy and you want to kill yourself or you have a medical problem or you are severly deppressed thats the only way, I know what you are going threw, been there done that and worked it! Good Luck

Go to the nearest Police Station or Military Branch post/base/shipyard, etc and TURN YOURSELF IN!!!! You already screwed up your entire future with this stupidity of going AWOL. There is no excuse -- I know BASIC training is difficult, and going to the first assignment is quite a change .. but really ... SHAPE UP, take on your FULL Responsibility for your actions and just live with the consequences. YOU did this to yourself.

Return to military control as soon as you can. The longer you stay away, the worse it gets. If possible, go to the nearest Trial Defense office and turn yourself in there. You'll probably be administratively eliminated from the service with a general or uncharacterized discharge.

call gi rights at 1.800.394.9544 or access their website www.girights.com, they will help you but the first 180 days are the magic number and you have to start proceedings now. a word though..... you have to remember you volunteered and try to remember the reasons before cutting out, but in saying that no one wants you there unless you are truly dedicated because if you're not into it then you only endanger the lives of others.

Enjoy levenworth...seriously. You are a deserter now...not just awol. Time to face up and turn yourself in...maybe if you plea on the court you might just get an uncharacterized discharge.

Go back and tell them the truth - you just couldn't hack it.
You should be able to get a general discharge. They don't want you if you don't want to be there. But if they find you before you turn yourself in - you're looking at some serious time.

Turn yourself in to the army or move to some other country..
Sounds like you are in for a few days in the stockade and a
Dishonerable Discharge .....at best.....

Turn yourself in to the police or any military unit. Return to your unit and tell your commander you are just not tough enough or good enough to be a soldier. Tell him you finally want to do something honorable and take your lumps.

If you go over 30 days I believe you get charged with desertion.
