There are several approaches....
This person might just continue to phone the police department constantly...sooner or later that person will get a reprimand from the police as well as a recommendation to get help, or else face charges for false informing or whatever they come up with as a threat.
If this person is willing, however, a trip to the nearest mental health center, the doctor's office, or even the hospital emergency room is in order. Sometimes obsessive-compulsive disorder needs medication --it can be caused by an imbalance in brain chemistry.
OCD often responds well to behavioral therapy. This is a process where the therapist works patiently with the sufferer in altering behavior patterns and responses. Sometimes there is underlying anxiety or even a past traumatic event that needs to be dealt with before the symptoms will lessen. It's really something that needs expert help --sometimes it takes a combination of all of these approaches together.
The good news is that in most cases it can be cured or the symptoms managed. Sooo, there's hope and the possibility of life free of this misery, so why not take the first step towards recovery and happier days??!!

If they don't talk when the Police answer the phone, after so many calls, the cops are gonna get piss'd and OCB is gonna wind up vacationing. It won't be in the nut house, either. The cops will have OCB placed in the nut house for a 90 day obs. if they choose. OCB can get help, but needs to attend those sessions often. Psychologists can take care of ths issue. None of the treatment is 100% guaranteed, though. It sounds like OCB might be better off going to a psychiatrist, so OCB can get psych meds to treat the problem/symptoms.

I married a man with ocd. He takes effexor for his problem and it helps a lot. This person definately needs to get help. Think if this person is calling the police when someone who is really in desperate need of getting through can't, then this person may be the cause of a death or hurting someone.

YES, call the psychiatrist. There is medication for OCD. My Aunt had it, and is able to live a really normal life on meds. If she doesn't take them, the OCD comes back.
You can live a really normal life, you just need a little help.
Good luck to you.

The person should seek help.. I don't know if being out on drugs is the wisest of choices, as some doctor may seem to think..
Best of luck to this person.. seriously.
