You probably also think that on memorial day we're celebrating the fact that our soldiers are killed, right?

Edit: Sassy, interesting that you should mention that.

"The stunning design of this magnificent September 11th memorial is a 15 mg. of 24 KT gold and 15 mg. of .999 pure silver clad tribute to all who were lost on that fateful day. $5 of every commemorative order is donated to official 9/11 family charities and memorials."

Coin itself is $30. Not half but gold and silver isn't cheap, that may actually be half their *profit*, when you consider the cost of production as well. It's certainly more than the five or ten cents of every dollar that you usually see.

To remember who was lost. The spirit of twin towers: definition: The spirit in which they were a part of ones life and those around it.

Remembering - Honoring..
Now if the money collected went to the families of those that were lost.. maybe buying the coin would be worth it..

Greed.. unless as I said above, the money, or at least half of the money collected, went to those that lost family there.

It's crap now ... but it may be worth something down the line. l have a "Remember Pearl Harbor Pin" that I like alot.

Take a walk in thrift store or flea market ... you'll find dozens of
pictures of JFK, Martin Luther King, Lady Di ...and the like. People have been making a buck off of tragedy forever. Ya think the Crucifix started off that way?

Tell...me do you not have stamps commemorating the Titanic despite the massacre that happened on that ship? It is merely meant to remember those people who died, and what that building (the military and economic headquarters of America) represented to the world before its downfall.

It was intended as a commemorative coin to honor the memory of those lost.

It's a symbol of devotion to Mammon. They say it's to honor the lost, but my wife actually lost people, and that commercial for the coin made her cry. Those of us who knew somebody in NYC or DC, or lived there on that day, will never forget.
