Explain that you were hurt by what she did and you said things out of anger that ended up hurting her. Tell her you're sorry for that, but also let her know what she did to hurt you in the first place was wrong too.

According to whom is it your fault? Hers? Well of course she would think this way, she is hurt too and doesn't realize that she hurt you. Is it your fault according to your son? If so, you have raised a son who is a man and sticks by his wife. Explain to him what happened, tell him it was just a reaction to her and suggest that maybe you and her could both do better.
Good luck to you.

I hear you, I have one of those at home. Yeah, that's right I live with mine. The best thing to do is just to ignore her rude comments and don't give her the satisfaction of knowing that she hurt your feelings, they love that. Be strong, stay civil and defend yourself in a politically correct way. Do it for none other than yourself and your own peace of mind. Good Luck!!!

If you said something inappropriate, justified or not, you need to apologize to her, and the longer you put it off, the harder it will be. Don't worry about what she did or didn't do, if you were wrong in any way, then say your sorry and move on.

You have to suck it up and apologize. All eyes are on you to set the pattern. You can let this build into a great big thing or end it. The ball is in your court. You rule, she drools.

Don't feel guilty about it. They hurt you first anyway.
