Surely some are like that. But, no, I don't think so, in general. Notice that there is no large complaint about the non-Mexican browning of America from the hundreds of other countries where the color is not regular-old-white (e.g., India). That is, even if you don't count Mexicans, America's complexion has radically changed in the last 30 or so years. So, I think it goes beyond that, in the Mexican case. ...in at least the following ways:
(1) Many are annoyed that they just come right over, illegally, when so many other potential immigrants wait in line for years and years to get here, and often still never get approval.
(2) Others don't like it because the Mexicans end up economically different than other immigrants--they are disproportionately poor compared to other immigrants. E.g., the average Indian coming to America is in a much different economic situation to start with than the average Mexican. Some people argue that, on the basis of this, Mexicans hurt the economy more than they help. (I don't actually think this is true, but it is an empirical matter.)
(3) Another argument concerns culture. A country cannot bring in too many people that do not share the basic principles of the existing culture without big problems. This problem is most pronounced in Europe, concerning Muslim immigrants. They appear to be less able to assimilate there (some of their fault, but probably some fault goes to ethnocentric Europeans who define their country partly on ethnicity). People may argue that Mexicans coming here are not assimilating, or too many are coming too quickly that assimilation is not able to keep up. (I don't find this argument at all compelling for Mexicans or for Muslims in the U.S, but very compelling for Muslims in Europe. All my experiences with Mexicans here are that, in a single generation, their kids are totally Americanized, and certainly have no desire to destroy it!)

Disagree ... the immigration debate has nothing to do with white, black, brown, yellow or purple with yellow spots ... it has to do with law enforcement, border security, the creation of a permanent underclass in the U.S. ... does anybody really believe that this government has ANY immigrants' welfare at heart? No way ... what they want is poor, expendable, cheap workers ... how anyone who professes to be pro illegal would want to participate in such a scheme is beyond me ... quite apart from the fact that we know nothing about the illegal aliens who come into the country, no screening of any of them, and the drain on the resources here (how can anyone even BEGIN to budget for an influx of we don't even know how many), the illegals who are here are to a man or woman exploited by big corporations who pay little, have scant regard for labor laws, and don't give two craps about their own citizens ... to my mind, if you're pro illegal, you're pro slavery .... sorry ....

First of all, ILLEGAL ALIENS and the PROBLEM they present, are NOT about RACE.
Why would brown babies bother or scare anyone?
ILLEGAL ALIENS are CRIMINALS, period.
They bring DISEASE into the USA, such as syphills. And more.
They bring CRIME, such as MURDER.
They bring drugs: over 90% of methamphetamines come from MEXICO.
They are STEALING from the USA and its legal citizens.
They are also stealing from Mexico the other countries they originate from by deserting their own country in a time of need.
Take Mexico for instance: Mexico has a corrupt government and a corrupt system. It will not improve as long as its citizens DESERT instead of staying there and FIGHTING for FREEDOM and a few RIGHTS. Once they desert their country and illegally enter the USA, they are branded a CRIMINAL for life.
Illegal aliens place an unwanted and uneeded burden on our society, 29% of our prison population is illegal aliens.
They are a tremendous burden on schools.
They make our insurance rates rise continuously.
Illegal aliens cost the USA in ways YOU probably don't even bother to consider.
Illegal aliens drive our wages DOWN and the prices we pay for goods UP.
Why are YOU trying to make it an issue about RACE?????
Are YOU a RACIST????
What do YOU not understand about the LAW???
FACE IT, illegal aliens, no matter their country of origin, are DESERTERS and CRIMINALS.
That is as thoughtful as the issue deserves.
I don't know what you consider a thoughtful answer, you did not ask a thoughtful question.

No not true at all! Some pinheads may think that way but I don't. I have no problem with people of a different race. Diversity is what makes America so great! The only immigration I don't like the illegal kind.

Sorry your argument doesn't hold, My niece is half Mexican, and I love her very much, but I do not want illegals here, from any country, and I don't like Fox sending Mexico's problems here, they are not economically viable, that is why he wants them out and working here so they can support Mexico. So if you want to point fingers you can start with Mexico first, and the employers that hire them here. The rich in Mexico that are mostly white Spaniards that don't want the little brown beaners their, that is why they refuse to set up programs to help their own people they are pawning them off on us. You never see short brown Mexicans on TV or in politics, so you can't call white America racists it starts in Mexico first.

No. What makes you think any American is frightened about immigration? This country was built on immigration (think of police and Irish comes to mind, right?).
The only problem that upsets (but doesn't scare) any American, regardless of race, is illegal immigration, not immigration per se.
To assume "white America" feels a certain way is best described as prejudice, pure and simple. Why are you prejudiced against any group?

No, most white people are not afraid of babies, brown or not. What we fear is losing our way of life, our prosperity and comfort, when America is engulfed with poor, uneducated, illegal immigrants. They come here, have their babies on the government dole, without ever learning a word of English. America does not want to become the breeding ground for the Third World's poor. If Mexico and other Latin American countries did a better job of educating its citizenry, we wouldn't have this problem.

That is a loaded question. I lived in an area that only had 2 hispanics in my school growing up. It was a friendly hometown. Now, the area is about 60% hispanic and crime is rampant and my friends that still live there don't feel safe.

Its a possibility, but there could be other reasons as well. On the other hand, ever wonder why Europeans when they came to North America didn't mix with Native Americans? Unlike Spaniards when they came to the American continents they did mix with the natives there.

could be.....I don't think that's all of it....For most it is concern about our country being invaded and the standard of living going down....but someone has to do these jobs, otherwise business will go overseas for cheaper labor....illegal immigration serves a purpose, although most won't admit.....
there is nothing wrong with mixed marriages....if white America wants these immigrants to assimilate, what better way to do then mixed marriages....
