The Oregon Zoo ... located in Portland ... is an excellent zoo! It's a wonderful place to spend a day. The Portland Childrens Museum is next door to it, as is the Forestry Center, which is very informative.
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is downtown, and its a fun place as well! And for shopping, go to the Lloyd Center and/or downtown area.

If you and her like reading, you'll love Powell's. It's a bookstore that's the size of an entire city block. :)
The zoo, OMSI, Japanese Gardens, Lloyd Center are also things to do in Portland...
You could hang out at Pioneer Courthouse Square, go shopping downtown, ride the Max train...
There's a lot to do in Portland. :)

pretty much what the person above me said. you could go to the beach which is a short hour and a half drive. the oregon coast is one of the cleanest around. seaside is one of my favorites. there is tons of shops, an arcade, candy factorys, ice cream parlors, and much more.
