For our first date, we went to go see a movie. during the movie i would feel her elbow brush up against my hand and then she would kind of press it against my arm and leave it there. is this flirting or was she just telling me that she wanted the armrest??

definately flirting. she would have just kept her hands on her lap and sucked it up if she wanted to armrest. light touching seems to be the go-ahead for "i'm interested"

Not accidental. Any type of contact, especially for two or more seconds is totally intentional. The longer it lasts, the more she's flirting.
