It's always the idiots that are in the wrong that make a big song and dance about it! He's a man and they never seem to admit to driving errors. I think it's disgusting how people bully on the roads. If you ever find yourself in that situation again, head towards the nearest police station. Hop you're okay and don't let him get to you, he's just a stupid morong.

Keep your cool. Try to find a safe place, such as a fire or police station - it's very unlikely the jerk will follow you there. Even a busy gas station, post office or bank will do. Some place with a lot of people around.
Until you find a safe spot, you could turn your emergency flashers and headlights on and slow down a bit and drive to the speed limit. Hopefully, Mr Idiot will pull around you and be gone.
Getting a plate number is tough, and most cops won't follow up unless there is an accident or other event. At best, they will send a letter in the mail -- days after your incident.
You can call 911, and they will respond after they prioritize your call and dispatch a police car, but it will also take time.
Remain calm, and remember you were the one 'in the right.' Go for a cup of coffee or a beverage to regain your composure. Being followed by an idiot with unknown motives is very upsetting, and you don't need that on your mind.
Sorry it happened to you.

That happened to me once, and my daughter was in the car with me. We live not too far from a fire station, so I pulled in there. The jerk who had been following me, honking and flashing his lights for over a mile went right on by.
It was really scary for me too. The guy who followed me drove a big SUV and I drive a small car, so if he would have hit me, it would have been bad.
Always go to a fire or police station, or even to a parking lot of a store if you see a policeman there.
Good luck, and glad you are ok.

That has happened to me before. I refuse to get intimidated. I've got a fast car, I'm an excellent driver, and I'm a f*cking psycho, so I turn the tables on them =) It's funny how they turn tail and try to lose you when it's clear you're not intimidated by them!
For anyone who is saying to call 911, I don't know where you're from but here in NJ that just doesn't work. By the time you get a live person on the line you could be as good as dead. And if the cops don't witness the road rage for themselves, they don't give a sh!t.

If you don't want to be involve in any "Road Rage Experience" you should start for calming yourself first, if you don't sound the horn the other crazy person will not do anything. I drive all day long and I know for experience that people cut you off in traffic and what I do?? I don't do anything, I keep my cool and hope that the other jerk doesn't kill anybody with that driving. Took me a while to understand that if you want to avoid something bad ...start for yourself!!! Good luck!!

Had a really bad experience. Guy made 4 lanes on M1 when there were only 3. My husband flashed him so he stopped dead in front of us. Traffic moving at speed had to swerve round us to the left and right. Eventually someone crashed into barrier. Got his reg and phoned police. Still waiting to hear news. Thankfully we were unhurt but very shaken, specially 9 year old son.

That is really scary. I live in Southern California and traffic is a way of life for us. Most people understand that you have to wait to get to where you are going but there is always that one a**hole that just doesn't want to do things the right way. I have had road rage a few times but, I usually just swear and glare at the person in my mirrors and then it's over.

Those dog gone car companies put a really mean horn in your car. If I where you i would take that car back and have the dealership install a kinder more gentler horn so everyone want get upset at you.
Hope this will help you in your future

Call the police - in most states, activities that we call road rage are considered criminal offenses. If he is going to follow you, try and set up a drive by for an officer.
If he gets ahead of you, get his license plate and a description of the driver if you can.

Get his tag number and call the police. There is no place for that kind of behavior. Next week he will probably be toting a gun with him and shoot the guy that cuts him off. Funny here in South Florida there is a whole crapload of bad drivers but not that much road rage. People just seem to sluff it off like they should. It does get your heart racing when some rages on you like that.
