Of course women are equal. However, they were not made from Adam's side. How can you really believe that whole story?
If that is how the people were created and they had 2 sons and there was no one else, I guess the sons slept with their mother to populate the world. I guess they could have slept with Adam's first wife, Lillith....still gross. What a fairy tale

If the female is made up of a part of a male. Then it is only fair that he treat her how he would like to be treated. Cause' ironically he would be.

My mother-in-law gave me this...poem.
Woman was made from the rib of man
she was not created from his head-
to top him , nor from his feet- to be stepped upon.

She was made from his side- to be equal
to him: from beneath his arm-to be protected by him:
near his heart-to be loved by him.....

Yep, men are to respect women and treat them as they would want to be treated. The Bible states that man is head of household but that his mate is his equal and he should treat her as such
