I am guessing MIT in US.
scientist is a very general term. It can be physicist, chemist, biologist etc.
The most important I see is the fundamenatl skill sets in Math, and logical thinking.

The above answers are correct. Chemistry, Physics and biology, I guess geology as well.
Being a scientist doesn't pay that well, and to get a job you might wind up weighing soap flakes at Proctor and Gamble.
I definitely check into engineering. I switched from Chemistry to Chemical Engineering after I looked at the starting pay.

Chemistry, biology, physics, etc. etc. Find out what kind of scientist you'd like to be and speak with a counselor to help determine a major.

Statistic is the most important class a scientist can take. In science you need to know how to analyize data and that is what statistics is.

what kind of scientist? you should major in physics or chemistry or biology or something to that nature, i majored in a science, but to be a real true blue scientist youd have to go on to get a PhD or something....
