how can i split a mpeg file?...?

start the movie maker program (start > All programs > accessoceries > movie maker)
Import the mpeg file into your collection
Drag the file to the timeline at the bottom of the screen
Use the cut function to cut off part of the movie
Save the resulting file
Repeat keeping the other half of the movie
Save the file
You now have two files from the one

Download VCD cutter from google or download.com.u can split the mpeg file using vcd cutter.
