As the new kid a couple of times, and as a teacher who just last year had 2 new students, I can tell you that he'll be fine (or she). At that age, the new kids have this air of mystery about them, so all of the kids gravitate towards them. He'll be able to make friends relatively easy, especially if he knows how to behave but can still crack jokes that people actually think are funny. He's no doubt uber bummed about the change, so you just have to give him some time to sulk until he makes new friends. It'll happen in time. Best of luck!

That everything would be alright, he'll be making new friends, and see new things. you can go visit defferent places, do things that you didn't do where you were. he'll adapt as long as he start making new friends. right now just be there for him, do not judge, do not force the issue, take him public places to sociolize and have fun. ask him to invite some new friends from school for pizza or something. make it confortable for him. have him speak to family more often on the phone. if you happy with where you are, he'll see that and become more open to the idea.
Good Luck....it's hard, but fun to be in a new place and meet new people.

That is so hard. Tell her to be very positive & outgoing. (Introducing herself to people) It might help if she took a picture of her family with her the first week or so, in case she gets sad. Then she'll know people are thinking about her & cheering her on.

Just tell him to be extremely and overly nice, polite, and considerate. As a new student in a new school. . .his first impression will last a long time. . especially with other kids. However. . . reassure him to be confident as well so kids don't label him as a pushover. It is a delicate balance but with encouragement from you he / she should be just fine. Good Luck.
