Saying "black" is more accurate than "african american".
Every time you call someone an "African American," you're making at least two assumptions about the person:
1. That the person is an American.
2. That the person is African (because it's inconceivable that black people could come from Haiti, India, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Australia, or Jamaica).

You are stereotyping and implying that all whites are bigoted.. Whites do not "always" use the term blacks in a negative way.

That depends on the person. I myself have not used that word for years. The color of someone's skin is not important. I call people by their first name. If I need to point a person out to someone, I always describe people by what they're wearing. Then, if necessary, the color and style of their hair.
People that do use this word often, don't think enough about how other people feel about being referred to by the color of their skin.

I don't know why. That is a good question. If you are talking about the actual color black it is used to represent darkness, sadness and depression. It doesnt make sense why black is used for this. I guess it is because it is dark and it shows darkness, but why should it represent sadness. If you are talking about the color of skin of people I do not know why people use the amount of melanin in someones skin as a stereotype. Do people use the color of your eyes or the color of your clothing as a stereotype? No. So people should stop judging people by their DNA and start getting to know people and using their personallity as a factor of whether or not they like them.

Saying all whites act in a certain way is the same as me saying all blacks act in a certain way. I am sure you know that all black people are not the same, as I know all white people who are not. There are a lot of white people I would not care to know and a lot I would welcome into my life. Please don't be a racist to white people, I don't accept that behaviour from any colour of skin.

Hey, I've been arond the block for a while, and have many, many white friends. Most don't, it's not as easy these days to find too many racist people. And those that do, that's on them. But the point is, they don't always do that. Trust me
