My partner got me a white gold engagement ring 18 months ago and it was a bit too small so I had it resized. Now when I look at the underside of the ring I can see a block of slightly discoloured metal where the ring has been resized. It's not too bad but I am getting married in a week and don't want to give it to a jewellers as I'm afraid I won't get it back in time for the big day, anyone got any suggestions as to how I can clean it?

it sounds to me like the white gold ratio they used in the enlargement is different than what the actual ring is. I clean my rings with toothpaste and a toothbrush and it cleans up nicely, you might try that. If not, the sizing is on the bottom so no one will see it when you show off your rings at the wedding.

That happened to a ring of mine. The jeweler who did the work said it's because of the heat. I was angry because when i took it in it was white gold and when it came out the shank looked yellow gold. I can't get it to look white gold again. The jeweler said i can have it dipped, personally i felt HE was the dip!

This resizing was done incorrectly.
Take it to the jeweler tell him to fix it and you will return in a couple of days to get your FIXED ring back.

Try scrubbing it with toothpaste, you may not shift it though as the discolouration is probably the solder line

You don't clean it, take it to a jeweler and get it cleaned professionally.
