Will America "tolerate" itself out of a country?

I see so many preach tolerance. Which is fine, but only to a point. You quickly become a foot mat if your not careful with "tolerance".

IE: France.

I did mean to say France was tolerate, I meant the public and government relations, becuase of france's policy.

So far we have tolerated ourselves into being the most powerful nation in the history of the world. We didn't get that way by sealing the borders or requiring conversion to Christianity. We got that way because people that will pack up and leave their birthplace to find a better life bring with them an attitude of industry and a preference for progress, which is why people from all over the world come here depsite the difficulty of integrating all this diversity. Conversely, those nations that have been overly concerned with ethnic and religious purity have either remained in the dark ages like Afghanistan, or fallen behind us like France. We have plenty of reactionary forces here to act as a brake on wholesale change, and plenty of progressive forces to resist those who want to turn the clock back. It's not our tolerance that's our weakness. Our current leadership represents the most intolerant segment of our society and we have lost ground in the sciences, destroyed our global reputation and made enemies of former friends. Hopefully the next election will start to undo our slip backwards into the bad old days.

Tolerance is as you said good but without knowledge, It meant nothing . Knowledge of what is the right action or the correct method of executing an action is better than blindly tolerating something.As for America, I doubt it had tolerated much, if not it would be able to justified all of their actions instead they merely manoeuvre their way around so as humanity would not be able to see the faults of the political parties. The current administration certainly did not tolerate much of the other nations governments , if not, it would not go around branding any nations as an axis of evil.
I was so disappointed to hear when the president told his cabinet that he was selected by God and that God had chosen him and directed all his actions. All this being told by Mdm Albreight.

France got screwed because it quit tolerating the immigrants. They tried to force them out by refusing them jobs and that only ticked them off. Now America is trying to do the same and the result will be the same, accept them while you can so that they don't lose it on you buddy.

I actually find it interesting that in the name of tolerance, people often don't tolerate Christianity. In other words, it's okay to have a Native American mural depicting a spritual scene up in a courthouse but not the 10 commandments.
