This is what I did~~~~~and lost 25lbs~~~I've kept it off for 20 years. First DON'T starve yourself! You need to eat 5 small meals a day. Breakfast is very important. I would do about 600 cals. for the first meal, 200 cals for the second,600 cals. for the third ,400 cals. for the fourth, 200 cals for the fifth. That's a total of 2000 cals a day. This along with exercise should get your metabolism in shape. Plus, you are basically burning most of what you eat before your next meal. Your body won't want to store the fat because it's getting a consistent amount of food. (If you think the cal amount is wrong ~~~ check how many you should be taking in. If you are over 5'7 you'll probably need more)

Well, I'll let you know. I'm in the middle of losing weight (10 lbs. so far).

I don't like diets either. I like food too much.

I read some articles that indicated that concentrate working on building muscles (weight lift), and just cut out "extra" foods you eat that add calories. The muscles will help burn more calories, even resting. So, I don't keep high caloric foods in the house (cookies, candy, crackers, cakes). I also cut down eating drive through (originally 4-5 times a week, now 1-2 times a week)(just keep stuff that's easy to fix). Everything else I eat is the same.

My training routine (3 times a week): Lift weights / nautilus machines for about 1-1.5 hrs. each session & 30 minutes on a cross country eliptical trainer. (I can lift about 175 lbs. regularly now, from starting at about 75 lbs.)

2 other days a week I jog about 2 miles.

It will take a long time to get the weight lose to kick in (at least for me). I actually gained 7 lbs (muscle weight) during the first couple of months, although I lost an inch in pants size over that time. I've been keeping it up for the past nine months, and the total weight loss has only been registered over the past month or so. Hopefully, it'll keep going, and it's something I can live with.

Good luck.

The best and easiest thing is to drink more water. Drink an 8-ounce glass of water 1 hour before every meal. Next, get out and exercise just 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Just taking a brisk, sustained walk regularly will work wonders. After a week or two, there will be a noticeable increase in your stamina, health, and mood.

Regarding food, eat the foods you like, but in moderation. If you like tuna sandwiches (like me), use a minimum amount of mayo and eventually fade it out. Eat wheat toast (without margerine) in the morning with your coffee. Try to keep yourself to within 2000 calories a day.

If you can stick to this, you should be able to lose your weight. If you are losing 1 or 1-1/2 pounds a week, you're doing a great job!

Get a pedometer and walk 10000 steps a day. No joke - it's not as much as it sounds. Park farther from the door at the store, walk staris instead of elevators, etc. If by the end of the day you haven't gotten in enough steps, go for a walk around the block before bed. You will sleep better because of the fresh air too.

Also, replace soda with water if you drink any soda at all.

Drink a glass of water immediately when you wake up in the morning. It gets your system going. Eat something healthy for breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up.

Make sure your last meal is at least 3 hours before your bed time. Don't eat anything - just drink water - for the 3 hours before bed.

I promise that you will see a difference if you just follow these things.

Frankly this looks like a multitude and this isn't any longer good for the newborn. You don't need Jenny...just eat sensibly...cut out junk food and high calorie stuff...portion control...a typical portion of meat is supposed to be about the size of a pack of playing cards, and a portion of veggies is typically 1/2 cup...

Start exercising...at least 30 mins a day (break it up if you have to)...I shoot for 1 hr a day, 5 days a week when I'm trying to lose...but whatever you can do, and do regularly is better than nothing or only once or twice a week (that won't really help)...

Good luck!

The best way to lose weight is to stick with your workout plan and watch what you eat. Calories in should be less than calories out. Drink a LOT of water to stave off hunger. Weight loss should be 1-2 lbs a week. Good luck!

cut out liquids that have a lot of sugar (coke, etc.). .

drink lots of water. .

get up early and eat as soon as you get up. . and eat a few small meals through the day rather than a couple of huge ones (lunch and dinner). . cut out high-fat foods, and eat more fruits and vegetables (and drink fruit juices instead of soda (but make it ones that are lower in sugar))

don't eat within 3 hours before you go to bed. .

get out three times a week and either go running or play some serious basketball (even if you've never touched one before. . go buy yourself a good basketball and some good tennis shoes and go find a local playground or gym and start to play (shoot, run around, chase the ball down (get your own rebound, etc). . practice making layups (running up to the hoop and making a basket). . etc. .

and get PLENTY of sleep each night (at least 8 hours). .

i am trying this thing and it works.
first of all know your ideal weight according to your height.
then if you have a sedentary life style multiply your weight by 12
if ur little active multiply by 14
if very active multiply by 16
this will give you the amount of calories your body needs to maintain your weight.
now if want to loose then you should eat approximately 220-250 less calories than needed.
for example my height is 5'00 and i weigh 139.pounds.
my ideal weight is lets say 120 pounds and my life style is sedentary so i require 1440 calories to maintain my weight.
but i started taking 1200 calories and it is helping me.
good luck

Get the Atkins Diet book and Atkins Diet book recipes from your library. It emphasizes low carb meals. I lost 65 pounds on the Atkins and you don't go hungry either.
