My son was like that, he wouldn't sit outside on the potty either. I ended up buying one with sounds to encourage him. At the beach, if he wants to go No. 2's then build him a sand boat or something and bury the potty inside.

well, you can use those little swimmers, aside from that, if he is uncomfortable using the potty outside in front of other people, why make him, you wouldn't do it, so why should he. Maybe the beach without facilities isn't the best place to go.....

Does he not want to sit on it outside because he doesn't want anyone to see him? Maybe you could make a game out of it & hide him with a large beach towel while he does his business. Practice it at home before you go so it won't be new to him if he has to do it that way.

I think you need to ask him very frequently if he needs to go and make him stay there until he goes. Then you can reward him when he does use a potty outside with something like a fruit snack or M&M!

He is being trained to use the potty indoors by himslef without a ton of people around. YOu are making the kid nervous and ashamed, you need to move the potty indoors somewhere and take him to it if he needs to go.

Hiya
have you tried getting a windbreaker for the beach and wrap it round his potty like a little portaloo. He will think he is very grown up!!

Your best best is to time when he goes. Schedule out his liquid intake and his food intake if you haven't already. This will produce a very 'regular' time of BM and urination. Otherwise, you'll just have to carry a coke bottle with you. Thank God you don't have a little girl with this issue!

go where there are facilited nearby. Your little guy is very smart and understands that it's not polite to pee in public. He's gonna get far in life.

Maybe build a towel tent around it so it feels like it is indoors.
