Because Islam is the path of Abraham (as mentioned in the Quran), and as God gave Abraham a sacrifice, then we have to do the same as well.
Turkey is the favor it dish in chrismas?
to give chicken some break. it's more economically than religion. there are people in power who influence the culture to match its economic needs. same thing many people believe when you turn 18 move out from the house, go live with a girlfriend, and it's shameful to live with ur parents, that helps the economic. because more people will buy more houses and rent more apartments.
about dogs and Islam. in Islam angels do not enter a house that has a dog. the reason for this is unknown.

I am a christian and I don't have to go to church on Sunday or any other day. However, I believe Paul gave a strongly encouraged recommendation to meet with other believers... i.e. church!

1)~ Muslims pray 5x a day to worship their Lord (Allah). They take out time to praise and glorify Allah. They thank Him for creating them and granting them with a chance to please Him. Why shouldn't they? He granted everyone such a great favor, shouldn't we worship Him? Also, prayer washes away your sins and purifies you and brings Muslims closer to their Lord.
2)~ Muslims sacrifice on Hajj by following the footsteps of Prophet Abraham who was tested from Allah by having a dream that he should sacrifice his son. He saw the dream 3x and of course Prophets dreams are true and he was a friend of Allah so he took his son out to sacrifice him by cutting him with the knife. Of course his son was also a prophet so he complied with his father's dream. Once Prophet Abraham opened his eyes he saw that instead of his son he had sacrificed an animal from heaven and his son was smiling at him. His sacrife/test was accept by Allah.
3)~ Muslims can keep dogs for protection but not as a pet because dogs' sliva is impure and purity is half of a Muslims' faith. A dog thereby would leave impurity everywhere by dropping his sliva. Also, angels do not enter the house of the one who keeps a dog.
4)~ Same thing with the pigs. Pigs eat EVERYTHING so they have within them many diseases. That's why Muslims stay away from them. I actually know of a teacher who loved eating pigs. He was warned that it contained diseases but he couldn't resist eating them. He died at a early age. Everyone knows that.

Christians don't go to hell for not going to church. God rested on the 7th day and we should too which is why we go to church. As for the unclean animals--God said we shouldn't eat unclean animals. Pigs eat sludge and crap and we shouldn't be eating them. I eat pork though because nowdays pigs aren't fed sludge and stuff like that so technically they aren't dirty if you get them from walmart or someplace like that..

A Christian goes to church because he wants to.
Praying 5 time a day for Muslims is part of their dogma.

plus it's not like they sacrifice a dog!!
they sacrifice a sheep and eat the meat so there's nothing wrong with that.

Christians don't have to go to church, but it is best. We celebrate on Sunday as this is when Jesus (God) rose from the dead. Our God (Jesus) listens to us when we pray, anywhere, and at anytime!
