Actually the husband that time took her to a doctor who treated them both and the doctor told my sister that it was some disease which she got through using towels at the public swiming pool. She only became aware of that disease a few days back. Now she knows that it was urethritis and a person can not be infected merely by using a towel in a public place.

Not really grounds for divorce unless proof of husband being unfaithful during marriage as urethritis is caused through bacterial or viral infection and is not only picked up via an std a person can be sensitive to foams or certain creams such as sexual lubricants/spermicides or it can be caused by a similar bowel infection known as ecoli. Certain injuries can also cause urethritis. Sorry for the bad news.

Urethritis is not exclusive to husbands alone, it could even be the other way around. Urethritis is the general term for the inflammtion of the urethra (the urine passageway from the bladder) because of an infectious process. It can be any bacteria that may cause it. But if you are referring to acute gonorrheic infection then that is something different. But I doubt if that could be a strong ground for divorce. Probably better ask a lawyer.

All "urethritis" is is an inflammation of the urethra. That can happen from a bacterial infection. It doesn't mean that her husband was messing around. It could mean she doesn't drink enough water or didn't wipe properly.

Try re-asking this question under Law. You probably get a better answer from someone who actually know what to do.

Good Luck

Most states have no fault divorce.

This is really asking a much bigger question.
