I haven't made it for her in a while, but my eight year old love ocean on a plate (that's what she named it) Its an octopus, sand and seaweed! Its great and easy! You take a hot dog and slice it 3/4 of the length of the dog then give it a 1/2 a turn and do the same thing (making 4 "arms") (you can try to make 8 but it never comes out as good as I'd like) Then you stick the dog in boiling water. (The dog curls up making arms and a head of an octopus) The sand is just baked beans (some kids like them right out of the can.. I doctor mine up a little by draining them and adding ketchup, mustard and syrup) The seaweed can be anything from salad to broccoli to spinach (whatever green leafy your kid will eat) Its fun and different!

Have fun!

PIZZA ROLL-UPS
Ingredients:
1 pound Frozen bread dough; thawed
2 cups Pizza sauce
1 Onion; peeled and thinly sliced
1 Red Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
1 Yellow Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
1 Green Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Olive oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400F. Divide the thawed dough into 4 balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a 6-inch circle. Spoon 1/2 cup of the pizza sauce into each circle and spread it out to the edges. Heat some of the olive oil in a saute pan over medium high heat. Cook the onion and bell peppers until soft, about 5 minutes.

Set aside; let cool. Layer the cooled vegetables on the dough circles and top with mozzarella and Parmesan. Roll each dough circle up jelly roll style. Using a serated knife, cut each log into 6 slices. Place the slices on a lightly greased baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Grilled cheese and tomato on dill bread. I use low-fat cheese. Tomatoes are wonderful this time of the year! I order cottage dill bread from Zehnder's of Frankenmuth, MI. It's lower in calories than regular bread. The dill bread adds so much flavor to the sandwich that it's so, so .........gotta go make one for me!!!!!
