An athiest that would be trying to save you is not a true athiest, its just someone who got burned by a god based religion. A true athiest has never given any thought to "saving" the religious from themselves. Everyone knows right from wrong. People choose to be a good humans or bad. Either your heart loves or it doesn't. You dont need a god or a doctrine lean on. If there is a god then it would be impossible for our little animal brain to comprehend let alone having man dictate the gods will to people.

No to both questions and to accuse someone of being hypocritical for doing same thing you do to them is not only wrong it is just plain being a jackass.
If Christians can convert so can anyone else to what they believe the truth is..but the Christians tend to say they are the only ones who can do that stuff which lends weight to the argument that christian=hypocrite
As to why atheists here..they have as much right to be here to provide a different point of view to your religious beliefs as you do to present your belief.
Another reason could be to "diffuse as many bombs as possible" since theists have been torturing and killing atheists for thousands of years and are still trying to de-humanize them this day....it's could be a self-preservation action in response to the constant attacks.
I personally believe it has to do with atheists trying to help people grow since religion is a huge factor in most conflicts.
I find it very funny that people need Jesus to save them and guide them. I believe in a God but I don't act moral and decent for God...I do it for ME. I can stand up on my own and decide right vs wrong and why so I don't need a dusty book or threats from my creator to be good since I have grown beyond all that 2 year old stuff. When I pass on if I stand before my maker I can stand tall on my feet saying "Maybe I didn't say the popular catch phrases or bow at the right pieces of wood but I lived a good life despite any mistakes I made along the way"

Did an athiest say he was trying to save you from anything? Probably not. The thing with athiests is they dont care if you are saved...
The reason they are on here is to try to get thier oppinions heard just like the rest of us.

No. As an atheist I can confidently say I am not trying to save you. As a fellow man I may find it worthwhile at times to share what wisdom has come my way - but I'll never tell you that you should fall from your faith, burn in hell or the like. You see, as an atheist, I could not care less about what you may or may not believe - whatever makes you happy and doesn't bother me will do. All you need to do is leave us well enough alone, a bit like rats do.

I'm trying to save all of us, actually. Religion is dangerous... extremely dangerous. If you don't believe me, take a look at the situation in the Middle East right now.
Now, if you are deadset against accepting reality, then so be it. In which case, I will continue to save others from people like you. It's that simple. Those with the courage to face the reality that there is no god, will do so. I try my best to give them the tools and the options to make that leap.
But if you don't want to, that's fine. I'll just continue to lobby to ensure that people like you don't gain any more influence in the government, and in our educational system. Sorry if that makes me your adversary. I'd really it rather not be that way. But if you can't be helped, then we simply have to keep you somewhere where you can't harm other people...

Well just remember that just as strongly as you believe in God there will always be some one that believes just as strongly on the opposite side of the spectrum the complete opposite. There may be no doubt in my mind that there is a God but Atheists believe just as strongly in their convictions as we do. Just ignore the rude comments that some of them might make. Instead of letting it get to you just set a good example of what a Christian person is like and maybe some of the more intelligent Atheists will hear us out.

No, because atheists cannot save anyone. they certainly aren't rational in their behavior or dialog.
If you ever read the "questions" in this category by atheists, you will find that they are mostly silly crap that spoils the room or they are a wise *** that wants to confuse people into some scientific theory that has no inspirational or emotional value.
Atheists are just lost little souls that have no direction, but claim to be "thinking for themselves". this means that they "do what they want" and not what God has instructed them to do in life. This is what teenagers say in order for nerdy kids to look up to them.
But religion is not like doing a book report. You cannot escape from judgment day by acting "tough" or "cool" in front of believers.
When the "final exam" comes around, you will wish that you studied!
