Because we are human and our hearts are full of sin, unless Jesus comes in and gives us a new heart and we let Him live through us. I have to keep asking HIm to take control of my life every day because i keep trying to run things myself and then my view of people are altered. If I let Jesus in, I see people through His eyes, and love them.

I think as a society we are taught that way, with all the bad news that we hear day in and day out, we form opinions right away about someone, like in the case of Karr who is being investigated for the murder of Jon Bennet Ramsey, He is already made out to be a monster by the media circus, the man doesn't stand a chance of a fair trial, because of all the dirt there is on him.
I don't know any scripture at the moment that I can give you, but he is a child of God.
There is actually a web site for news called Happy News .www.happynews.com

Innate sense of competition causes us to look at the negative. However, your estimation of others could stem from a long history of emotionally damaging expereinces with your family and friends. Have people in your life been overly critical of you? Perhaps, you and your family have a superiority/inferiority complex. I really have no idea which way you are coming from on this question. As far a scripture is concerned, I would just go for the trusty "Love thy neighbor" line.

Try not to overthink things.

Because of our own negative attitude !
Scriptures cannot 'battle' for us. We have to use the tools provided by scriptures to fight it ourselves. But really, no big battle needed to overcome this. Just look at everybody as he appears in the present afresh, using the past ideas only for adequate precautions if needed.

I don't need Scriptures for this one; it's called human nature. Mankind is always searching for the bad in others to make themselves feel better.
Also, some people make their bad sides more visible than the good, so others base their opinions on that one part rather than the whole person

Sometimes it makes people feel better by making others. Its called deflection - by concentrating on others negativity it deflects from our own.

The same reason that we can sometimes ignore all the negative things about someone, because we see what we want to see. And perhaps sometimes we see in others the negative things we see in ourselves. Remember that Through Jesus' blood God does not look at our flaws but sees us as His beautiful creation. We need to look at others that way too.

I don't know but I have tried really hard in the last year not to do that. Because if you are negative all the time you will only bring negative things your way.

We live in a High Tex. society which you have access to everything that`s going on in the world. IF you watch the news, sports, talk shows,Etc ; most of it is negative and we as human beings seem to thrive off of this. In my opinion it is nature ,how life on this planet is structured. Example: Take a look at yourself and other people around you, we seem to love to gossip, especially, when it`s NEGATIVE. I hope this helps you.

Human nature seems to pull to the negative by design. To draw yourself to the positive, requires an effort of will. We are carefully taught from childhood...our first word of instruction...NO!
