I am not a "Freedom Fighter." I am a "Fighter For Freedom." No, you may ask yourself, "What is the difference?" Well, here's a little guide:

If fire-fighters fight fire

and crime-fighters fight crime

what do freedom fighters fight?

I oppose the war with every atom of my existence and being, I want to bring our troops home this instant, and I have to ask, why are we there? We have to wait till we get victory? What is victory? What do we win?

It's here. WWIII.

I'm no expert, but you did say opinions count......
1- No, but I do hate people who protest the war at the funerals of our fallen soldiers.
2- I don't think it is a war anymore. A lot of folks want to pin the war on the Bush administration, but I think that the war had more to do with the UN not enforcing it's own sanctions, Iraq's non-compliance with disarmanent, and the findings of UN's own weapons inspectors. If there were other agendas for declaring war, then there were other agendas, but I don't disagree with the reasons we were initially given, and I'm real tired of folks attributing the war in Iraq to 9/11, and I hate people who oppose the troops who have been sent to Iraq to serve our country. At this point, I don't care what caused it in the first place. The fact is that our troops are there, now, and THAT is the issue at hand.
3- If we pulled our troops now, we would further alienate ourselves as a country in this world. We must finish what we started. Achieve the goals that have been set, and leave the country better than we found it. Once again, we're already there, no point debating whether it was righteous to go there in the first place.
4- Depends on who you talk to, maybe democracy, maybe relief, probably peace.
5-Not quite yet
5- Quit watching the news. Go to the library do some research on the history of the current situation. The media is not an unbiased source of information.
Good luck

Too many questions. As far as what hippies used to call themselves - you cannot use that to defend or not defend what is happening in the world today. Viet Nam was a whole different issue. Please do some research on these topics.
I was against Viet Nam during my "hippie" days. Did I really know what I was against? Probably not. I do know that I never insulted a military person who had put their life on the line doing their duty. I hate any war - my son has been to Iraq twice. I support what the US is trying to do, I'm just not sure they are doing it the right way. Part of me says, just turn that whole area into an ashtray. Confused? We all are confused. The fact remains that there are people who want to take down the US and our freedom. That is a cause worth fighting for. There are people that hate us for no other reason than we have a democracy. They use religious reasons and all, but they hate us just because they can. We have catered to all this hate and not stood up for our beliefs for a long time. If we don't pull this off this time, we are really screwed I believe. The day of everyone loving each other has gone. Make love not war doesn't fit anymore.

First we are already involved in World War Three. It is not against a country or group of countries but against Islamo-fascists. The war on terror or WW3 will only be over when all of the Islamo-fascists are destroyed. And we are fighting them in Iraq. The mission has changed since we have been there. It started out as an operation to free the Iraqi people, but it has evolved as some conflicts do. But we are fighting them there, as opposed to here. I believe that if we had not gone into Iraq there would have been numerous terror attacks in and against the US. You can oppose the war, freedom is a beautiful thing, but you can not take it to the extent that some do which undermines the morale of those serving and fighting everyday. Supporting the troops not only means sending a care package or wishing that they return soon, but also in the hope that they successfully complete their mission. If you want the mission to change or don't agree with it as a whole, change the leadership in Washington. Are troops must remain in Iraq until she can defend herself if we have a chance to win the war on terror.

I'm an "Old Hippy" and have never been nor been called a freedom fighter. Back in those days the only thing I believed in was PEACE, LOVE and WOODSTOCK. I'm opposed to war because I've been there done that in Viet Nam, lost a lot of good friends in that conflict. Unfortunately war is a necessary evil in order for us as Americans to live in peace and relative comfort. The saying "Freedom isn't Free" is so true.

War makes too much money for the real people in power. They will always be wars. The numbering of 1,2,3,4or 5.Ain't even a real thing or we probably be at 999999999. I've got a nephew going to the desert soon. He thinks he is doing the right thing.Like the other guy said freedom ain't free.I'm think that it grows in a garden that needs blood for fertilizer.

No,I'm a freedom creator.I hate no one.I stand for peace. Bring them home. Create a world in which we treat others the way that we expect/want to be treated. Check how many countries that are involved already and you tell me. No,it is just mostly quite. Peace.

I dont believe Bush intends to withdrawl the troops anytime. In fact he was interviewed not long ago on the situation and his statement was, "that is something the next president will have to decide"
