I have a son just entering 7th grade next week. How much time will he need for homework/studying in your experience? Also, I want to limit his computer time when school starts, how much time would be acceptable? I was thinking one hour for homework and an hour in the evening for computer. What do you thinK? Thank you!

15-30 minutes per subject. Some nights will require more while other nights there won't be any. I would highly recommend that a review of the day's work in all subjects be done every night even if there is no homework. This will be a plus when studying for a test!
Computer time during the week will have to vary depending on homework load. I would try to give him 30 minutes a day. On the weekend, I would limit computer time to 1 to 2 hours per day.
Seventh graders need to be outside riding bikes, skateboarding, etc.

Depends on his classes, but that sounds reasonable. Maybe even 1.5 hrs for homework and studying....but like I said it really just depends on the classes he is taking. 7th grade isn't too bad.
