Canned tuna is safe. It doesn't cause cancer and the chances of getting mercury poisoning from tuna is about the same as being struck by lightning TWICE!
Commercially prepared food is very safe over-all. Food manufacturers go to great lengths to make sure they will not be sued because they produced un-safe foods.

canned tuna contains preservatives leading to cancer. but it only occurs when taken daily in large amounts. i recommend tuna maybe 4 times eaten a month. almost once a week. canned food arn't really good for you and your health. it's better to eat fresh foods because of all the good things that they vary in and they don't contain bad chemicals that can react to your body in a bad way. hope this helps.

There is no relationship between canned tuna and cancer.
There is no health difference between the canned tuna and fresh tuna.
However tuna, swordfish, salmon, and other top-of-the-food-chain fish may contain relatively high levels of mercury. Safety organizations have recommended that we limit our consumption of these fish to one meal per week.
