Ana... I like the other recommend stretching. I recommend dynamic stretching before hand for prep (basically, warm up your body to get ready for cheerleading), then remember to cool down with stretching. If you are in pain then I recommend (if you are not allergic) ibuprohpen before the activity! This helps reduce the swelling. Do not over do it. Your body will get use to the stress but it takes time. Replenishing your nutrients is a good idea (banana, multi-vitamin, etc). Best of luck.

okay, this sounds odd- but it gave me a slammin toe touch!
Sit on your bottom, legs spread out in front of you, with your back pressed right against a wall. Lift both of your legs in the air and make a "t" with your arms. You should look like you are in mid air doing a toe touch. This is SO HARD, but really works those inner thigh muscles that have to be toned for a good toe touch!

Stretch out your straddles! Also practicing laying on your back and snapping your body up at the same time as your feet with definatly teach you to snap your jumps faster which allows you to get a higher toe touch! Good Luck. Also remember to do all of your normal stretches your coach has you do!

well i have done cheerleading for 6 years now and dance for 8 so i know that to get a toe touch it would help if you practiced splits at least once every day...and or you could sit down in the floor and spread your legs like this kinda like a toe touch /\ like that except wider before cheerleading practice....don't forget to try your toe touch at least once a day to

Your body is sore because it it not used to the stresses (cheerleading practice) that you are placing upon yourself. Within a week or two and maybe less, you will be fine. Meanwhile, try some stretches from here - http://tms.ecol.net/fitness/hamsstr.htm

I am a housekeeper. I find that aspircreame really helps those aching bones & musles. I can't use anything like deep heat or stuff like that because it sets me on FIRE.
I can't take aspirin because it tares up my stomache. Try Aspircream it may work for you. Or too taking a bath in ebsonsalt works too.
HAVE A GOOD DAY

Sorry, I don't have an answer, I just thought your question looked really funny! We've all met a sore cheerleader at some point, usually just after a party!

Gousa suggested a good one. Also, do a few lunges, and a few other exercises to stretch your hamstrings. Your coach should be able to make suggestions and demonstrate.
Good luck!
