Hi
Yes there are treatments for mental illnesses. The first step is to find a mental health clinic near you, to get a 'real' diagnoses. Do not try to diagnose yourself...this is not a DIY kind of thing.
These days there are some near-miraculous medications, depending on the type of illness, that can control it very well. In fact, with proper treatment, the torment of mental illness can be reduced to a tolerable level. This is important...like diabetes, there is no CURE, but it can be CONTROLLED, which in some cases can make the difference between life and death.
there is now a wealth of information available to people on the web, but again, don't try any DIY research until you are diagnosed. There IS help....there IS hope. It can seem complicated at first, but don't let that stop you from persevering to find the forms of treatment that can help you.
in addition to nmha.org you might also check out www. crazymeds.com good luck.

Yeah, comunication. You have to ask yourself first what is a mental illness? A mentality that does not agree with the next. To the great quote, "you are either with us or against us". But there are many kinds of medications depending on what the doctors say is your illness. From schizophrenia to depression. The medication will vary.

Yes, there are many treatments for different mental illnesses, but there are no 'cures' that I am aware of. I guess we would have to know the illness you are trying to treat, to know which treatment to suggest. Hope this helps you though. :)

mental illness can be treated in a number of ways. The most popular of which are medication and therapy. Of course none of it is foolproof but in most cases the treatment is successful.

You have to be conscientious about whatever treatment you are undergoing, and give it your all oherwise other people will not be able to help you.

Depends on the illness. There are a lot of them that can be treated with medicines and some you can do nothing about. You will need to be more specific if you want to find an answer to this question.

It depends upon the illness. It is thought that more extreme sociopathic illnesses cannot be successfully treated. For illness a combination of medication and therapy will often help ease the symptoms.
