Nothing wrong with spending time by yourself, but if you're worried about it maybe go see a doctor. Maybe you're depressed or something and don't realize it. The only reason I'm suggesting it is, because obviously you don't feel right about it. Other than that I don't think anything is wrong.

I think most everyone needs some time by themselves. I am the same way- I have to have some "me" time or I get very irritable. The only thing that worries me is that you only enjoy your food when you are alone. A few years ago, I was on the verge of having an eating disorder, and I got like that.

Kareen,
I don't know if there's any real "scientifically"-approved reason, but I too require more alone time than most humans do. I love my wife and I love spending time with her but I am also a solitary person who can easily spend massive amounts of time on end without even speaking to another human.
In fact, my wife understands this and leaves me a few hours per week for my own "buttertime", which helps me remain sane. She has also realised that she also needs her own alone time to do things as she wants them, when and how she wants them.
Basically I would consider this "solitary" attitude very normal, even though today's world which promotes individualistic and selfishness in the youth movement, we are encouraged to love our over-crowded and over-populated living environments.
And on a more personnal note, I find people who can't be without human contact for more than 60 seconds at a time to be poor pathetic and sick people who are way too emotionally dependant on others' "approval" for their own good.

I feel the same. I think possibly, it's because this world that we live in is so fast-paced and everyone is scrambling around so much that in order to just cope with everday stress I just need to be alone for a while.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I don't need people around me all the time either. I enjoy time by myself too.

there's nothing wrong with wanting to spend some time by yourself! In fact, it's probably a good thing- it shows that you're independent & don't have to rely on others.
