Based on personal contacts and observations, it is our conclusion that most people (including many pastors) have accepted the NASV on the basis of its claims to be more accurate and up-to-date - or, they have accepted it on the recommendation of respected Christian leaders.

In a Bible study we are doing the pastor said The American Standard Version is the most correct. The problem with some of the newer versions is that they try to make the Bible so easy to understand that it loses some of it's meaning.

I don't think the KJV has "many errors," per se; but I do think its outdated language causes humans to misunderstand what God tells us.
I find the New King James Version to be excellent. If you find the NKJV to be unreadable, try the American Standard Version. The New International Version is very readable, but is not for serious study.

There are differing translations, some of which I use, but lacking knowledge of Hebrew and Greek, I use the King James to settle differences, because God has kept it alive for centuries.
Has anybody heard of the American Revised, or Dr. Moffatt"s? These are hardly ever read anymore. But King James keeps truckin' on.

I have heard among scholars that the "New American Standard" is more accurate, but that the "NIV" is easier to understand.
Keep in mind that the Word of God is spoken, the Bible is a transcription. Therefore your fellowship with the Holy Spirit is important in the process of experiencing the Word of God.

The Catholic Bible. I'd suggest the Revised Standard Edition.

NIV is the most widely endorsed as having the fewest errors.
KJV and NKJV have both been shown to contain over 5000 errors in MEANING compared to the original documents, not just minor word choice errors. KJV and NKJV are invalid.
