A old remedy that works for me is to put fingernail polish on the bite. It will smother the chigger and it will die in just a little while so the itching stops. It may sting a little but it works.

Old fashioned remedy. Get Quaker Oats! Get in bath tub. Wet skin. Put the Q Oats in a clean wash cloth and wet it. Wash the body as if the wash cloth were full of soap. Get out of the tub. Pat dry. Will stop the itch even if you only do a spot or two.

It will sting a little for awhile. But try taking a washcloth and putting some bleach on it (not too much). Dab bleach on the bites. Also, works for poison ivy. Dries them out in just a couple days.
