By the way, I'm not looking for high and mighty answers about staying home. That is not an option. So, please don't try to tell me what I should do, just answer the question.

Cleveland Oh Eastern Rural Suburbia,

Infant care was $200-$250 a week.
Preschool $150 a week
After school for half-day kindergarten $140 a week
After school Post K, $90 a week
Summer camp $150 a week.

Depends where you live but most dayare cost will be consistent in an area just like the pricing of everythings else. Remember too that when school aged, many school systems will ot bus them to daycare outside the school district.

Not sure what state you're in .. but in CA, childcare is outrageous!

My hubby and I were both working full time when we got pregnant. After going on maternity leave, we looked into daycare. It was going to cost us $200 less per month than what I was making .. so that's all I would have left over from my paycheck each month!!

and on top of that .. someone else is raising your child .. and you pay your entire paycheck for that! I can't imagine coming to pick up my kid, and the sitter telling me she took her first step, or said her first word, and I missed it because I was working.

So, in other words .. we decided to have me stay at home with her while daddy works full time.
No, I don't get a paycheck, I don't get paid vacation, or time off .. but I do get to see all her milestones. I am here from the time she wakes to the time I put her to bed. My child couldn't be better behaved or more well adjusted, because she feels secure. I've never left her with babysitters while I worked.. she's never felt abandoned or felt like whe wasn't getting enough attention from us, because we are always there for her.

There are so many parents out there that say they can't choose between their career and staying home with their child .. then they hire a nanny to raise the kids for them .. that's ridiculous!!

If you and your hubby can sit down, look at your budget, and make some financial cutbacks, I would suggest staying home with your baby .. especially your first child. You are never going to get those years back, and you will want to enjoy every moment. Once you bring that baby home, you won't want to go back to work, anyway.

I have a home daycare. I charge $120 a week for one child (5 days a week) for two children I charge $200 a week. For Part-time, (3 days a week) I charge $70 a week for one child. For two children I charge $145 a week. I provide all of their meals, breakfast, lunch, and snack. If your child is not potty trained I will work with you to train them, the rate does not go up if they are not trained. I live in VA and that is a good rate for the area I live in. I worked in a daycare for about 1 year before I started doing it in my home and they charged $200 a week for ONE child. I just say research everything and everybody to make sure what will be right for you and your child.

i'm sorry, yet $8.seventy 5 an hour isn't adequate. Are you pay her taxes? undergo in thoughts 2 infants is a lot. A 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous is a handful, a 4 month previous desires countless interest. an entire time nanny will frequently gets a commission $10 an hour. Please re-evaluate, undergo in thoughts your leaving her with the main helpful possessions you have. She going to do her suitable including your infants. She worth each penny you spend.

I'm in TN and I thought my daycare's prices were high! Thier daycare is the most recommended in my area and my 4yr old I pay $105, and my 22 month old I pay $115. Includes hot meals ect. (some private daycares only let u pack them a lunch, make sure and ask if they cook hot meals, i wanted my kids to have hot meals everyday) That is for a full week. But most importantly ask about crafts, arts, ect. that your children will be doing. I love to be able to bring the things home they make and alot of daycares will just throw them away after a week.

it really depends on where u live if u what home care(your home) or, home child care(someone Else home) or a company's child care. I put my children in day care and it cost me 148 per child a week I have 3 so that was 315 a week with discount for other children. I got summer baby sitter and it only cost me 120 a week. I live in Ohio.

In stamford, Ct I am paying $2650 per month for two kids (2 and 4) It is a preschool setting. Home daycare is cheaper but I have not found one I am happy with. Some centers in the area would have cost me over $3000 per month. BUT, having kids is the best thing in the world. We are broke but happy!!!

Well, I am in Minnesota and I have my child in daycare for 32 hours per week at a rate of $100 per week. Since she has many food and dairy allergies I provide her food and drink. Children are expensive no matter what, there's no way around that! Good luck with your decision!

It really depends on your area & which center you choose. I have twins & when they were at the day care fulltime I was paying $140 for the two of them per week. Now that they are in school & only need rides to & from school, I pay $55 at the center I'm at. The one we were at before wanted to charge me $135 just for the 3 hours a day they had them.
