YES!!!!! I'm sick of asking questions about other religions and keep on getting how I'm supposed to accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour! People feel the need to throw their personal religions in the faces of others when asked a question! Annoying!

That would be ideal, however it would probably get clogged up with cross over stuff just like R&S does now. But if people would only post questions about Islam in the Islam section, Christianity questions in the Christianity section, Judism in the Judism section, and everyone else (Atheists in particular) in the Other section it would be SO nice.

OK, so after reading some of the other answers. How about a filter of some sort where you ask the question to the R&S section, then I can filter out what I don't want. It would work similar to the filter for English only questions or US only questions. This filter might contain a Christian filter, a Jewish filter, a Muslim filter, an Atheist filter, a filter for Eastern Religions (like Buddist, Hindu, and the like), and one for Pagans, Wiccans, and others who do worship something but can't be easily classified into one of the other categories.
Of course what I'm really looking for is a way to boot out those whose q&a's are full of negativity. Guess I shouldn't hold my breath for that one!

I'd have to agree with "Larry" that not having a religions section at all is the best approach....and sadly, I want to say to "Dan" that people who are zealots about their faith would STILL throw their beliefs into ANY and ALL discussions...its the nature of that particular beast, I'm afraid.

If Y! Answers DID try to give each faith a separate place, who would decide what a religion IS? You only mention the big three, what about all the alternative faiths? (You've left off Hinduism, Shiekism, Jainism, Buddism, Wiccan, Atheism, Satanism, Gnostism, and that's just a few off the top of MY head!) And then there are the off-shoots, the religions that came from one basis but now are a body of their own (such as protestantism, do you KNOW how MANY denominations of protestantism there ARE? And that's just an example!)

See, it's a mess. So, again, no.... LOL

That's fine with me, as long as your intention is not to create separate cheering-sections for each religion. In other words, if what you want is, for example, a Muslim section where only Muslims would visit, that would go against the spirit of the whole Q&A enterprise. This is supposed to be a Q&A section ABOUT religion & spirituality - not a sectarian outpost for the exclusive use of religious proselityzers.

that's an excellent high quality concept, yet I disagree. there are various chat rooms, yahoo communities, and boards that are particularly for a particular faith. We for sure look to prefer to chop up ourselves and talk to easily people who consider our perspectives. in this communicate board however we are given the possibility to learn approximately different religions and the persons who stick to them. particularly circumstances the image isn't extraordinarily. yet that's ok. In society we would desire to appreciate a thank you to understand people of all distinctive ideals and artwork at the same time. How do we do this if we save isolating ourselves and stay unaware of alternative's ideals?

No I think we should show respect and learn about each others religions.
It's the only way to fight the bigots on these pages which today happens to be an idiot going by the name of 'muslimhater'.
I'm a muslim by the way and proud of it.

A few more sub-sections would be nice. Maybe then people would quit harassing each other and we could have some productive discussions.

no, we should learn to respect and take suggestions in a common ground, otherwise, Christians will talk christianity and muslims will talk Islam in their own space and the rest of the world will know nothing.

Well, maybe a sub-section. I don't think it would be beneficial or promote acceptance to just seperate them completely. I do think offensive questions/answers should be removed though.

Yes, it would be great, but even if there was there would be religion bashing going on in each section anyway, so there is no reason for seperation.
