Whenever I get stressed or upset, I break out in hives, they're not the really big ugly ones, but I itch all over. I have used Allegra in the past, but you have to have a prescription for it. Benedryl puts me straight to sleep. NE1 have anyother over the counter suggestions?

it happens to me, too--i love aveeno anti-itch cream--i also use over the counter claritin. for instant relief try using a cold compress.

Claritan became over the counter a few years ago. Loratadine is the generic brand. They probably have different forms of it, but one 10mg tablet, once daily, is the normal dose.

Non-drowsy Benadryl...or just about any other over the counter allergy med? A store brand "Antihistamine" or a topical Benadryl, instead of oral...hope that helps..

benedryl is about the only sure fire cure for hives that's over the counter.Find out what your allergic to.It could be life threatening.,
