When you are not in the position to leave the other person due to financial reasons or cause you may have a child together. The relationship is gone to hell but you dont want to break up your family.
Or mostly its insecurity.

Norm!!! I am shocked!!
I think it is weird that people cheat for some of the above reasons, when I guess most of them could be sorted by talking, trying and coming to a resolution of some kind.
Treat as you would wish to be treated is the best way I reckon.....then again if I had a partner and Colin Firth realised what he was missing....then the thought might cross my mind!!

The truth is, why cheat?
Just end the relationship and move on.
If you were to cheat, what is that really saying for you as a person. Obviously someone isn't happy in the relationship for what ever reason, so just walk away before belittling yourself.

I have cheated out of a sense of revenge, when my first two marriages broke up, I began new relationships to lessen the sting of losing the marriage. I realize it is a bit shallow but that is how it happened.
I am married again and would not cheat regardless of the situation.

I wouldn't cheat, ever. If I was dating someone that I didn't want to be with anymore I would break up with them. If I was married and had thoughts of cheating, I wouldn't. Marriage is for life.

Probably very drunk... but saying that I'll be completely honest and say I've never cheated and never will although I am human and it has crossed my mind, tis called self control.
A very famous saying "Don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to yourself"
Thats my piece said and done

Oh yeah, I agree with the little wee-wee answer. Boredom, revenege, not enough attention, assume he's cheating, not ready for a relationship, really don't care about him....the list goes on!
