a calico. i have 2 cats one is a boy he is a calico and he gets along so well with me and my puppy. they sleep together and everything and he acts like a dog he always wants to be close to me. i have a 6 week old kitten to he is longer hair im not sure what kind but he fights with the puppy and is not very lovey. also once a cat is at a house for 7 days even if it gets out he will always come back. there is no breed of cat that is better its all about how you raise them and the attention you give. they have a mind of thier own!!!

Websites: petfinder.com or local human society. I've used both with great success. My first pick would be a Maine Coon. They're big bone cats, gentle, and will follow you anywhere. Second would be any cat that meowed and paid you attention when you see it for the first time. The only hard part is deciding on male or female. Good luck!

I have a pomeranian and a mackeral tabby. Things are fiery down here...the cat is terrorising the dog...:o)

Get a ragdoll for harmony. Norweigian Forest cats are very smart and come on command. Cornish rex is rather amicable and intelligent.

You should get a short-hair breed, if you get a long hair you have to brush it everyday and the fur get matted. Get a younger kitten, about five weeks. That way it will get used to living with a dog. I have ocicats and one is friendly to his neighbor cat, but they are both friendly to the dogs.

Any breed really. Just don't get a siamese. Those are too independent and don't get along with dogs.

German Shepherds will be easy to train, won't run off, play and go for runs with you. Get a DOG for your DOG.

wellll you could go to the shelter they usually say which cats get along well with dogs. try www.petfinder.org and look up your local shelter(s) and see if there are any cats there that say they are dog compatible

My cat does just that! I dunno the breed...a mix probably, but he has the brown/black tortoiseshell pattern, with white feet and a white nose&"bib." I heard the breed coloured like that is "dog-like."
Manx's, too. the domesticated ones, of course:-)

Get a rag doll. If the dog kills it you will never know!
