I started by eating less & healthy...I am trying to be more active as I haven't been since I was 14 so I am taking it slow...
monday night I did about 20 squats and arm circles (yea I am starting small) and from the time I woke up tuesday morning until now wednesday afternoon my right upper thigh is killing me it really hurts every time I walk up stairs or even just walk I mean the pain isn't intolerable but I wanted to know is this normal should I continue with the squats even though I might cry or should I wait until the pain subsides.

I would say, wait until the pain subsides to do squats. You may do other forms of exercise though. Starting small is ok! Making a routine out of it is what is most important. Eventually you will raise your stamina to be able to do much more, but as long a you have that routine locked in place, it will really be a life style change! You may have pulled a muscle in your thigh or it is very sore from the exercise. I suggest riding bike, climbing stairs, doing sit ups or crunchies, pushups or 'nushups' (with the knees), side bends, and do stretching. If it is just sore from exercise, doing other things will stretch out the muscle again and get it back in shape. You will have many sore muscles any time you start working out after being dormant. If however the muscle is pulled you need to wait for it to heal because forcing exercise on it will damage it more

Pain is a message for you to let your body rest. The old saying no pain no gain is wrong. You will be sore at first but it shouldn't hurt that bad. Working out does not have to be painful. Why don't you start walking once your hip is better. Walking is a great exercise to start with. Starting slow is a good thing. You need to work up to bigger things. Try walking one day, weight bearing exercises the next. When you body hurts stop. Let it rest. It should go back to normal in a few days. Then start again.
Good Luck

wait for the pain to go away. it is normal since you didn't exercise so much before. Take hot baths and an aspirin once a day and you'll be fine...oh yeah..and try not to be so overzealous next time. take small steps and be aware of how much your body can take. if you exercise a lot for one day and then do nothing because of the pain for 2 weeks now that was a waste of time wasn't it?

Yeah you overdid it but thats normal your fisrt time, try to put a day between workouts that way you will avoid overtraing and injury also when you recover is when you build muscle so its important to rest.

Keep working it!!!! if it feels like you ripped something or pulled something then yes rest it,, but if it's just sore cuz you worked it,, keep on working it. It will feel better soon.
