Education and intelligence is always a bad thing when it comes to religion. Because the more intelligent and educated the person is, the less apt they are to believe in such patent nonsense...

Of course over education isn't a bad-thing!

No, I think the key words in that quote is "Puffed Up," it seems like some people learn so much, that they forget that there is still an infinite amount of knowledge yet to be gained, it's just those arrogant one's that are annoying.

Still, that's no reason to stop me from increasing my knowledge and reading more than just scriptures.

best wishes

Of course being over educated can be a bad thing. That's when people think that they're too intelligent and run off at the mouth trying to sound brilliant but they're just making fools out of themselves.

Ah ... Moses. It will be easier for you to part the Red Sea than to deal with this stubborn plague of anti-intellectualism. Ignorance has now become a virtue, to be proclaimed with pride. Thinking has become the first step on that slippery slope to "spiritual blindness." And words like "over educated" actually make sense to them.

No one should read anything they don't want to read, or simply by recommendation. What one likes/dislikes is a personal experience. What one person likes/dislikes may be Ok to someone else but not necessarily and certainly not perceived the same.

However ... It is also useful to divert your reading! You may find other books either to question what you believe in or else make you realise that you are right to believe in what you do.

Sure it is...if one uses it as a stick to beat others over the head with and look down on others. Education does not equate with wisdom or intelligence or even common sense.

Those who can, do. Those who can't...teach.
