If the US took over your home country, made the economy and living situations and everything as good as it as it is here in the US, would you go back? Or would you still want to stay in the US, cause the US is a great place to be?

This is hypothetical. I don't want the US to give them any help.

And the US will not give out any help unless the US sees something it can get in return...

going back to the original question.

as much as I love the life and liberty the US has given us (immigrants) - The US is a big bully. If my mother country is as prosperous as the US do you ever think I would even consider leaving it? think about it.

But years and years of colonization and Military rule has convinced each and everyone of us that the only palce to be in the world is the US.

I love the US

but yes, I would not have left my mother country if the economy and political stability were never compromised.

The US's ability to overthrow governments ( a lot of you turn a blind eye to that) exists. And you know it does. The way you turn a blind eye to a homeless person. It exists but it doesn't affect you so you let it be.

The US is where I would rather be right now. I want to be riding a HUMMER than a kia. We are a bully nation that is so arrogant and self righteous (take the leader for christ sake).

I might come back home if ever. Right now, here is where I'll stay. Like it ot not fellow immigrant. Unless you are an american indian I do not consider you non-immigrant to this land. So there.

I am not an immigrant but alluding to the question, let us take the Philippines as an example:

When the americans colonized (colony- any territory separated from but subject to a ruling power) the Philippines after World War II, they took a lot of the local treasures (art, jewelries) as their own possessions. They claimed a lot of the natural resources (lumber- hardwood, flora and fauna) as their own, leaving several communities without a land to live in. Women were raped, men who rose against americans were massacared and thrown into mass graves, these can be verified by the victims and witnessess still alive today. There was a lot of political maneuvers and treachery within the upper echelons of the american government that direly affected the Philippine population.

The reason why these are not found in a lot of history books is that the american government suppressed and continues to suppress any writings about their bloody past. Proof? In USA itself, how many American Indians were annihilated? How many books about these? Not much, even until now.

Yes, the americans colonized the Philippines, but "make the economy and living situations (sic) and everything as good as it as it is (sic) here in the US", they never did.

And to X-c-Cute, who posted above: Hong Kong was not under the american colony, but the british colony.

Before anyone feels offended by these comments, please do some research. I can support my statements regarding these.

Why not let the people of Mexico Fix Mexico ? Unless the people stand up in their own countries to stop the corruption.Demand a better government that doesn't exclude poor people. All that energy and money that is being spent on rallies for illegals here in the USA needs to be spent in Mexico to make its people able to stay there and make a descent living.Let those organizers know they need to make Mexico better not demand that the USA change .Make the changes in your own government and people will want to stay there .And the people that want to come to America will do it via the legal route. And yes many people want to come to America because they are free to voice their opinions with out fear but damn it don't burn our flags and disrespect the very country that you are trying so hard to stay in .This country will never be your Mexico. It is and will remain America occupied by Americans,by birth and thru legal means, not illegal ones.

why the f%#k does everyone think that all immigrants that come to the u.s are Mexican hello Mexico isn't the only country south of the border i.e Guatemala,El Salvador,Chile,Brazil,Honduras,Peru,Nicaragua.Venezuela. all go through Mexico to get here. the u.s isn't the only country with immigration problems. the difference is that the u.s puts everything out for the world to see. and no matter what they do putting up a wall across the border isn't gonna stop people from getting as long as there is money to be made and you think mexico is corrupt how do you thing people get through the gates they pay the border patrol a coyote charges 4,500 $ to get people in immigration will never end $$$$$$$$$$$$$ too much money to be made

The US has helped Mexico for the past 100+ years. Mexico's GDP now ranks 13th in the world, over $1 trillion per year. Canada ranks 12th, US 1st.
The problem is that Mexico has the most corrupt government in the world. We can only do so much, it's up to the people of Mexico to make things better.

They would definitely go back to their country, most of illegal immigrants are not here because they love the US, but because they have needs, and have to support their families. They’re far away from the families, just trying to make a living for themselves.

I dont believe they would go back if we took over Mexico. The govt there let the drug people have control. So really there is no govt there, right? If we were to take it over it would be ours. Not give back. Just to keep then we wouldnt have to worry about Illegals, right??? Sound harsh? well, I am tired of struggling to make ends meet.
