How could "uneducated" men conspire together to "create" a book over a period of 1600 years, across 3 continents, with 40 different authors from very different backgrounds (most of which did not know each other), in 3 different languages, with 1 theme (the redemption of man), and not 1 "contradiction" that cannot be easily resolved? You can ignore established facts of history if you want, but the answer still equals GOD-did-it.

The Bible is missing too many books, Book of Mary M., Book of Judas, 40 plus and it was edited by a catholic Pope, putting in what He thought was best. Not the whole truth. Books were written too many years after the fact. And in their interpetation. So only if you could read all the books and found the parts that were similar in a few locations could you get to the actual fact of what happen. True Seekers of Knowledge are Gnostic as was Jesus. Seek out the truth read all sources you can, but still only when we enter heaven will we really know.
God Bless, I do!!!

Well I don't want to discourage people from their views concerning the accuracy and divinity of the content of the bible but i think that this question has the fundamental flaw that it assumes the people that assembled the bible were uneducated. The contents of the bible were selected from a larger pool of official works by the roman catholic church. Everything that was left out has pretty much been forgotten. Anyway, the men that selected were arguable some of the MOST educated people of their time. I guess this is more of a discussion than an answer to the posted question (since the details seem to answer the question anyway) but i think it brings up some interesting points.

Easy, The bible is loaded with contradictions. Logical inconsistencies, and ridiculous primitive ethical standards and teachings that sounds more like the ranting of a seriously crack addicted psychotic serial killer than a Loving God that deserves any thanks.
try reading it

no, not really. the inconsistencies, for the most part, come from the changes that have constantly been made though time because somebody wasn't listening or thought they knew better. any that want to argue that can tell be how you get so many different religions from the teachings of 1 man.

Your premise is wrong. The priests of ancient Israel were THE educated people in their society. Plus there are so many contradictions in the Bible that it can, and has, resulted in the publication of a huge reference volume to that effect. These contrtadiction are easily resolved only if yoiu are eager to believe ANY rationalization, however specious, that gets the a priori notion of Biblical inerrancy off the hook. Those of us who are more intellectually honest are not so easily persuaded.

The bible must be spritually discerned. Universities cannot teach you this ability. Only the Holy Spirit.
