2) "The Mythmaker" by Hyam Maccoby.
3) "The Jesus Mysteries" by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy.
Then, and only then, come here and try to be a Junior Evangelist. Right now you don't know what you're talking about!
I've read the voluminous Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible. Even that is more honest & forthright than the twaddle you get taught at Sunday School or VBS.

Ok YES I am a Christian and this might make some mad. But honestly I dont rely on any one book. Yes the Bible has a lot that I believe in, but I rely on what I feel and know.
The bible was passed down and has Gods word in it but at the same time different people have passed it down. MAN has passed it down and its kind of like Telephone. We are getting part of the message that God intended but I think that some non believers have trouble believing because of the re-writes man has included for his own selfish reasons.
So to tell someone that they are a "Junior Evangelist" on your part is incorrect. You should not judge them, if they have something they are trying to say that you disagree with then talk to them about it.
But you shouldnt try discourage people from their faith.

I don't need to read other peoples thoughts or beliefs in order for me to choose. I believe what my God has told me, in His words. We all have opinions, and we all have a brain to decide what is right for us. Thomas Paine, Hyam Maccoby, Timothy Freke, and Peter Gandy, have THEIR beliefs, and I have mine. I can come here and answer a question to the best of MY ability, because my answer will come straight from MY heart. You have your thoughts, I haven't preached, I don't try to preach, Jesus didn't call me to be a preacher, priest, evangelist, etc. He called me to be His child, and that is what I will be.
I am not lazy, that is why I use my fingers to type what I have to say, and my mouth to answer what people ask. I don't shove it down your throat, I just state my opinion, YOU can choose to follow what YOU please, but YOU don't have the right to JUDGE me and call me names, just as I won't JUDGE you for accusing me of not knowing what Jesus has laid upon my heart.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I can say without a doubt that no,I am not a lazy Christian.Jehovah's Witnesses have devoted their lives to our great God,Jehovah,and spend as much time as they can preaching the good news about Jehovah and His Kingdom to others.
As true Christians we rely soley on God's Holy Word as the basis for all our beliefs and teachings.

Sadly, I must say I'm not as "out there" as I should be. I'm not fulfilling the Great Commission as I ought. I do what I can, and I try often to exceed my own expectations and please God, but I can always do more. I know this, I'm trying, and by God's grace I'll live a life for Him with the ultimate end in mind, always.

Yes...I'm a lazy Christian...but I'm Catholic...so I have Purgatory as a back-up.

The truth is found in the bible. Not from some unheard of author.

Okay, Okay, so you have read, the three books and the Dictionary, But have you read the Word I mean the real Word and if you have read it do you understant it? Does not sound like it.
