Thanks for your obvious insight in to nothing. Yes we read the Bible and those that Have placed their faith in Christ can understand it. Maybe you should read that Little part about "to those who do not believe it is foolishness". Did you think there was a reason that the Bible itself looks at your arrogance and then identifies you. I once watched a man ask God to forgive him of his sins and place his faith in Christ. The very next day he was talking about how he could not put his Bible down, how much it explained everything, why couldn't he see it before? Some people choose to be spiritually blind. It has been my experience that an atheist is usually such a legend in his own mind that his arrogance stops him from trusting God. But since he thinks he can be logical about something... he believes that it is "intellectual" to believe living matter just poofed out of a rock. (Yeah, that is sure impressive, I sure is glad allus subbb iintellijent peps has all of thessee smartties here to helpin us all).

Since the Bible is an accurate historical record of events that actually happened, you are right that it contains violent and sexual events. Try to find any part of history that does not.
Should we re-write the history books to exclude World Wars 1 & 2 because they are violent? Should be drop the Roman Empire from textbooks because there were incidents of rape or torture connected with them? Of course not. If we do not know about those actions, and their consequences, how can we avoid repeating them in the future?
The Bible contains a record of man's sins as well as his redemption. And a record of the consequences that follow those sins. If we do not know about those actions, and their consequences, how can we avoid repeating them in the future?
The fact the Bible contains events like David's murder of Uriah for his wife, Lot's sexual relations with his daughters, or Samson's passion for the ladies is proof that the Bible is reliable. If it had been edited over the centuries, those would have been the first things to go. They are there for a reason - to warn us against them, and to offer us the hope of redemption from them.

I have read the Bible cover to cover a number of times and there is some violent and sexual content but it is the the result of the sinful nature of man and not that God isn't good. Good and bad can not be defined by men. It varies too much among cultures etc. For example, cannibal cultures don't find it "bad" to eat people but most other cultures agree that it is wrong. Good is only good because God says it is and bad is bad because God says it is. Only He is fit to judge. Does clay say to a potter, "What are you making?" Does a pot say, "You don't have any skill"?

I totally agree with you! Thank God Somebody sees it! some person was on here saying that sex is just to have children and the attraction for a woman's breast was bad and it was only for the purpose of feeding children! Some people are just not reading the word or just picking what they want to hear and see in the word! Kudos to you for that! But God isn't bad He is good! God is Good! Even if WE see it as bad, God has a purpose for the good things and the bad things that happen! Not all the sex in the bible was sinful either! In the Song of Solomon he spoke of how he Loved his wife and how she turned him on. he discribes her body! you can see and feel the Love that he had for her! Honestly i Would love the fact that my husband would look at me the way Solomon saw his wife! I'm not married but i would Love that one day! So really look at what the word has said and take it in!

The Old Testament is all blood and guts I agree, thats why I read it. Got very bored in the New Testament. Most modern day Christians just read the New Testament, and thats why they don't know what you're talking about. I agree with your point, the Old Testament is very interesting.
I suggest reading any religions book of teachings before you judge on it. It helps you see things from both sides.

I've read most of the Bible [all of the New Testament and most of the Old]. I believe it is the infallible word of my Lord and Savior. I believe in it not only because by it, my mind is opened, but because without it there is no Truth.

What bible are you reading? Because you definitely aren't reading the same one that I read if you are seeing that God is bad when He is a good God. Maybe you need to go back and re-read or something because God is good in all that He is and does.

Well, i think that some one did not get the right idea. God is good, but not stupid... He is a God of order, so He is trying to discipline us, discipline... Do you know what discipline is? OK, so He is not bad... He wants us to be better and better but how that is going to happen if there is not discipline. Understood? I think i am throwing the seed on a sandy area.
