Or a green cheek conure? Hoping to find a bird that enjoys bird toys, not just a talking bird.

All three species are excellent companion birds. I've not personally owned a Quaker, but I've taken care of several and they are good talkers. They are not legal in every state, so make sure of your state's laws.

I've had lovebirds many years ago and they were very active and playful birds, but they did tend to be a bit nippy.

I presently have a Pacific Parotlett and she is a wonderful bird. Do to her diminutive size, she is not noisy or messy. She is very tame and loves to sit with me or ride in my husband's shirt pocket. Emme preens our hair and eyelashes and in general, loves to be part of the family. She is a big bird in a tiny package.

I see that you've added a Green Cheek Conure to your species list. I also have a green cheek that I hand raise from a chick. Rio is the sweetest bird and is also very active and comical. She rolls herself up in a paper towel like a birdie burito and she has the cutest gravely voice when she talks. She is also a very quiet conure. Some conures tend to be very loud.

quaker but there are illegal in some state's. but they are a playful bird but do get attached very quickly so it would be easier to train if u get it from a very well known breeder that handfeeds there babies and get it while it is young. make sure your breeder has it eating seed before it comes and stay's with you. make sure you have a big enough cage and toy's. they r usually a one owner bird they love there master. another bird I would look at is a blue crown conure. pretty colors and r playful a pretty good talker and good with kids. but they r a little bigger than a quaker and r not illegal in some states. the price on those run usually from 200 down to 125 in missouri and kansas . good luck

All 3 can be great pets if you get them as a hand fed baby. Lovebirds can be the cheapest of the 3 and the females can sometimes become aggressive when they are matured. Quakers tend to be a one person bird and if you have a family someone might get bit if the bird bonds to one person. I think that Parroletts are the funnest and very full of personally they are known as a pocket parrot and I have seen them priced as low as $75.

i might lean in direction of the quaker parrot, as long because it somewhat is a "hand-fed" toddler, no longer in basic terms "hand-tame". they are somewhat greater and truthfully have a greater beak so which you will might desire to be quite careful till you already know for constructive that the two get alongside. opposite to what the 1st answerer reported, lovebirds are no longer continuously loving in direction of different birds. they may well be as candy as pie to their proprietor yet very aggressive in direction of different birds. if your cockatiel have been to land on perfect of the lovebird's cage, the lovebird might maximum frequently bypass after the cockatiel's feet and can injure the cockatiels rather critically. additionally, for people who finally end up with a female lovebird, the aggressive habit might and frequently will improve as quickly as the chicken turns into sexually mature and starts feeling territorial over her cage. many cases a candy, loving youthful chicken turns right into a raving, biting lunatic as quickly because it matures. AND, till you have been to get a lovebird without postpone from a breeder, do no longer enable all and sundry inform you they might verify the intercourse of the lovebird till this is been DNA/blood sexed or surgically sexed. Many breeders won't even assure you of the chicken's intercourse because of the fact the only thank you to even start to make an journey "guesstimate" is by skill of feeling the separation between the pelvic bones of the chicken and till you have had completed a good number of pelvic tests you will possibly no longer be able to experience the version for specific. Parrotlets could be somewhat bossy and aggressive like lovebirds and if the cage you're proceeding to apply has cockatiel-sized bar spacing, a parrotlet would not be the main remarkable length chicken for that cage. it ought to probably get its head caught between the bars on the same time as attempting to slide out.
