Should I opt for standard Hotel /Park hopper packages that are available on the website or will it make better sense to just go there and book the tickets etc ?

You have several options when planning a Disneyland stay. Check out the packages of local hotels (check out Harbor and Chapman area in Garden Grove), as well as the Disneyland resorts. If you have the money to spend you can't beat staying on site. It makes it nice to be able to take a break during the day, go back after dinner, etc.

As far as tickets, if you don't go with a package deal, the web prices do tend to be better. The best deal though is a 4 day ticket available through Costco. The only catch is you have to have a SoCal zip code on your ID to get the ticket exchanged at the ticket booth. This is not a problem if you are coming to the park with someone local. They can exchange all of the tickets with their ID at the ticket booth.

Also, it does pay to have the tickets in your hand before you get to the park. It frees up time to stand in a line for something you actually want to see!

Happy travels and good luck!

Purchasing Park Hopper passes online in advance will save you a little money, and the longer the pass the more you save.

Hotel packages are good, but I think if you try travel sites like Expedia or Travelocity you'll find good deals at nearby hotels. I would suggest one in walking distance to the park so that you can dash back to the room for lunch or a nap (if travelling with kids). Hotels a little further away may have better prices and most offer a shuttle to the park.

You should definitely book your hotel and ticket package online before you go. You don't want to take a chance of a room not being available or having to wait in line for tickets when they could be shipped to your home before you leave. You can check with AAA, if you are a member on how to receive Disneyland discounts. The Disney Store also offers a ticket discount if you purchase those through them.

50th Anniversary events are still going at Disneyland, so definitely book your hotel in advance. Many hotels near Disneyland are offering package discounts, so save time and money by browsing the web in advance. Just search "discount tickets Disneyland Anaheim."

Also, it depends on when you are traveling, how many days, and the number and ages of people in your party. If you are traveling after summer vacation, you'll get even better rates.

Have fun!

Just FYI... Disneyland is not in Los Angeles. It's in nearby Anaheim, which is in Orange County (not LA County).

Get a park hopper online. Save yourself at least one line.

It tends to be a little more to purchase hopper passes at the gate than it would be if you booked them before hand.

Check out Expedia.com or call 1-800-EXPEDIA. There you can purchase your hotel and park hopper passes at a discounted rate. Have fun!

There are 2 parks, and the newest park is not worth the price of admission. (Mostly shopping and restaurants)
However, you should check websites like Southwest vacations
(www.swavacations.com) for the best pkg. deals in the Los Angeles/Anaheim area

Buy the tickets online before you get there. They're slightly cheaper, and you'll get to skip the massive line out front.

Staying on property is expensive, but worth it for the convenience.
