When my folks have their hands locked in a neck strangle, I got so mad I went over to my mum and smacked her twice on her head. I feel really really bad about it now.

everyone is quick to jump at the NO SHE IS UR MUM thing....but the sad reality is that not all mums are NICE SWEET LADIES .... i too have dont it..... i was only 16.... sitting quietly watching a movie with a friend when my mum who was drunk out of her head pulled up in her car.... strolled in hurling abuse at me calling me every name u could think of .... only because she wanted me home to watch my sisters....i lost it and slapped her ! This was very common at our house....Its taken me a lot of years to understand that just because they are your parents it doesn't mean they automatically deserve all the respect that should come with that! so i do feel for you....its obvious that your having lots of troubles at home.... all i can say is be who you are and worry only about the things that you can... good luck

No I have never slapped my Mother.
My Mother as sweet as she is would have dragged me out in the yard by my hair and kicked my spoiled a**. I always knew what I would get if I laid a hand on her. If she couldn't have gotten to me my Dad would have!!!
I don't think there is a thing wrong with that logic either. I was raised where you have respect for your parents.
But you say you feel bad about it. You should go say your sorry and tell her how you feel or it will eat at you.

In almost all the religions I know of, that's an ABOMINATION. Apart from begging your mum for forgiveness, you need to appease to God Almighty too. But make sure your mum pray for you and cancel whatever negative things she might have said ealier on. Lest it turn out as a curse in your generation where your children will smack you and before you know it, smacking the parents will become a phenomenon from one generation to another.

Next time call for help insted of getting in the middle. I know you feel bad. I would too. I would tell my mom I am sorry. If you are scared make her a card saying your sorry.
Don't let your parents beat each other up they could end up killing one another call 9-1-1 next time.

I would never hit my mom!!!! You should have tried to remove her hands or something first. There is no reason to ever hit anyone. Now go and try to apologise to your mom and then hang a sign around your neck that says, I am an *** hole!

They were strangling each other?! Is that what you are saying? I would've slapped em both if that's what was going on! I've never had that problem tho, so NO. I have NEVER hit either of my parents.

No! Your mother loves and cares for you, DON'T ever hit her! How could you do a thing like that? Please, go apologize and if this is a regular occurrence (not just with your mom, but if you've hit others as well) then you should get help. Don't ever hit your mother, that is a very appalling, looked-down-upon thing to do!

1. that is your mother and she deserves respect
2. if your folks were fighting that isn't any of your business
THere are alot of things wrong with that....but those are the major ones...I'm sorry but despite the situation there is absolutly no reason to strike your parents

I never smacked my mom, and I have two(weird situation-theyre not lesbians) I think you should forgive yourself though-they had no reason to act that way in front of you-it had to be confusing and you were just trying to stop it.
