The reason they like sticking there heads out the window is because of the fresh air, but where as when you blow in their face not only are they smelling and getting the carbon monoxide that we realize but they are smelling our own breath.

It could possibly have something to do with the fact that when you blow in their face, your face is in thier face, and that can be intimidating, and possibly "abusive" if they don't like it, where the head out the window is a whole other world of moving sensation along with wind and no face in your face! I'm just guessing!

I'd rather stick my head out the window of a car than have someone breathing in my face too.

The flow of air outside the window is a steady flow with slow acceleration. The blow has a rapidly accelerating and decellerating flow pattern. Also you may have bad breath. Have you tried a milk bone for tartar control?

You're blowing carbon dioxide at them. They get oxygen from outside the window - as well as a lot of cool and different smells.

It's because it seems like there running really fast to chase the car in front and the car in front seems to be scaird of him/her, it gives them a feeling of freedom, with different things to see and different things to bark at, a bike rides passed the dog barks then the bike is gone, it's a great feeling for the dog as they think there in control.
